How to Use the Chains Tab

The Chains Tab in the Tradier Mobile App lets you view and trade options by selecting specific contracts directly from the options chain.

Overview

When you open the Chains Tab, you’ll first see general market information, including key indices like SPY and QQQ, the day’s top and bottom movers, and the latest market news.

If you have searched for symbols recently, they will appear under the Symbol Lookup field.

Selecting a Symbol

Enter a symbol in the Symbol Lookup field to display its options chain.
At the top of the chain view, you can:
- Change the expiration date
- Toggle between Calls and Puts, Calls only, or Puts only

Selecting a Contract

Swipe a contract row to the right or left to display the available order actions:
- BTO (Buy to Open) – 1 click adds a Buy to Open order to your stager. Click the same square again to change to BTC (Buy to Close).
- STO (Sell to Open) – 1 click adds a Sell to Open order to your stager. Click again to change to STC (Sell to Close).

Building and Previewing Your Order

You can add up to 4 legs into a single order.
To review your selections, click the Preview Stager button on the right.
From the Stager, you can:
- Change the side of a leg by clicking its label (BTO, BTC, STO, or STC)
- Remove a leg using the red “X”

Sending to the Trade Ticket

Once your selections are correct, click Send to Ticket to create a trade ticket pre-filled with your chosen legs.
