Trading Futures Options Using CQG on Tradier Web
This guide explains how to access the futures options trading feature in the Tradier Web platform (via CQG), navigate the Options Ladder, customize your view, and use the Strategy Builder to create single-leg and multi-leg strategies.
Step 1: Access the Options View
When you first log in, options on futures are not displayed on the homepage by default.
From the left-hand menu, click OV (Options View).
The Options Page will open with the Options Ladder widget in the center.
You can also add the Options Ladder to a custom page or your homepage for quicker access.
Step 2: Navigate the Options Ladder
Calls appear on the left; Puts appear on the right.
Use the expiration tabs at the top to select the contract month.
The middle column lists strike prices—click the header to sort ascending or descending.
Step 3: Place a Basic Options Trade
Right-click on the call or put you want to trade.
From the menu, select:
Buy
Sell
Chart
Other available quick actions
Selecting Buy or Sell will open an order ticket:
Hybrid Order Ticket
Trade Ticket
Slide Trader
In the order ticket, you can:
Set contract quantity
Choose order type (Limit, Market, Stop)
Adjust Time-in-Force
Add conditional orders
Review all details carefully before submitting your order.
Step 4: Customize Your View
Click the three dots in the upper-right corner of the Options Ladder widget.
Select Manage Columns to:
Add data fields
Remove columns
Rearrange columns by dragging items between sections
Keep only the metrics you use most frequently for a clearer display.
Step 5: Build Advanced Strategies
At the top of the platform, open the Strategy Builder dropdown.
Choose a predefined strategy or select Custom to create your own.
Adjust parameters such as:
Ratios
Symbols
Expirations
Strike prices
Once configured, send the strategy through your selected order ticket.
