Using Charting in Tradier Futures (CQG & Tradier Web)

In Tradier Futures (through the CQG trading and Tradier Web platforms), charts provide a visual way to view market activity, analyze data, and manage orders. This guide covers how to access, navigate, and customize charts, add studies and indicators, and place trades directly from a chart.

Accessing the Chart Tool
  • Open the charting tool from the platform menu.

  • The chart displays:

    • Vertical axis: Price

    • Horizontal axis: Time

Reset view

Double-click anywhere on the chart

Reset price axis

Double-click the price axis to add a draggable line; right-click the line for more options

Change display type

Use the icon at the bottom to switch between candles, bars, lines, and other views

Show/hide info box

Use the eye icon to toggle the info box in the top-left corner

Adjust time frames

Click the button next to the symbol entry tool to select different time intervals

Adding Studies and Indicators
  1. Click the gear icon to open chart settings.

  2. Go to the Studies tab to view available indicators.

  3. Click the gear icon next to a study to adjust its parameters.

Placing Trades from the Chart
  1. Right-click on the chart to open trading functions.

  2. Select the order type (e.g., limit, stop).

  3. Review your order ticket carefully:

    • Quantity

    • Price

    • Order type

Notes on Charting
  • Charts can help identify market trends, display different time intervals, and consolidate order entry into a single view.

  • If your chart view becomes difficult to read, double-click to reset it.

  • The info box can be a quick reference for key data as you move your cursor across the chart.
